SUMMER HAIR

Since Spring has already begun and the weather is finally owning up to it, I feel like I want to change my hair again. A little lighter maybe or something a little more drastic like ashy/grayish blonde? I still don't know, so I decided to make a little modeboard of sorts of styles that I like. Not only colors but also the hairdo.

Opening my dorm window without adopting a pneumonia means one thing: Spring! I can smell cut grass, early morning sun and despite the hay fever symptoms are setting in, I still have my eye on several over-priced sartorial newborns. We're in the last month of term before I can get my skies out and enjoy a week of snow, friends and lots more... Can I get a wut wut.

Plush shearling for pre-fall. Last month the menswear collections showed us a lot of shearling as well. Whether long and luxorious or shaggy and shorn, Mongolian lambskin took center stage in collections from Gucci to Burberry Prorsum.

Now these are all items an average student can absolutely NOT afford and only dream of, but I just couldn't help myself. Fortunately, stores like a Mango and Zara exist and try to realize our dream closets by selling that look very similar. :)

CURRENT EAR SITUATION

Having you're ears pierced is like opening a roll of Oreos or watching a new episode of Girls. Once you start you can NOT stop. I've always had a thing for dainty ear decorations anyway; they're subtile, sweet and can add a little edge without being permanent. So when I started with my first ever piercing in February this year my inner rebel showed up. I started my search for more and every possible piercing you could have in your ear. To be honest, I'm already thinking of piercing a fifth one, but something inside me tells me that my father will not be as pleased as I will be when done. On the other hand, it is not permanent and maybe I'll die soon so why not? My ears are aching for some more subtile and sweet silverware, all I need now is a great excuse to actually get it done.

WEEKLY OBSESSION

Forest green, black pointy boots, oversized knits, Adidas trainers, (faux) fur, round (sun)glasses etc. personally I love it and you can't go out shopping without bumping into one of the above mentioned. I might have to invest in several warm (with actual wool) oversized knits to keep myself warm this winter.

99% of the 'French' aspect of this comes purely because A.P.C is a French brand and lingerie sounds and it is from the French. About two weeks ago I stepped into the Pull & Bear in Amsterdam about half a year after their opening to try to avoid the mass and tourists - which is absolutely inevitable in Amsterdam especially the Kalverstraat - without a mission and bumped into a series of striped tees in all different color combinations; black/white, white/black, light grey/white, dark blue/white etc. That's when I got the french feels. Pair a breton stripe with a simple ankle hugging skinny jean or cigarette trousers, hacienda shoes, a red lip and a hat and you're done. 

And as cliche and over-done it sounds, the je ne sais qoui fashion maybe an attitude really has something magical to it and every non-french-girl is envious that only the French girls, not to forget the men, can pull of. It can make the most put together look seem blasé. A.P.C. is so kind to share this magical feeling with us and to helps us adopt Emmanuelle Alt's wardrobe rather than a Shrek around 7AM on an ordinary day. I'm all in, Merci Beaucoup ! :)

FALLING FOR FALL

Copenhagen fashion week just ended, the September issues are in stores and clothing stores have started to sell their fall/winter 2014 collections. The whole shazam. So I thought what better time than now to create a board with several items from different brands that I currently happen to have a secret addiction for. 

About two weeks ago I vowed to not spent every cent I have on clothes and be more responsible with my funds. In order to actually make this happen I made a list of items that I am allowed to purchase, because buying clothes is just inevitable. 

- A leather jacket (faux leather doesn't count)

- A dress for my 18th birthday paired with shoes

- Black boots 

- A black sweater that in fact is capable of keeping me warm during winter

- Underwear (a girls right to underwear should never been taken)

- A pair of sneakers

- Gloves and a hat 

Now this shouldn't be too hard, right?...
